Discover the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe

The redesigned 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe 5-passenger crossover is jam-packed with amenities and looks great!

At Goshen Buick GMC Hyundai, we've got a completely redesigned model on our lot: The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe! It's sculpted, eye-catching, and packed with a lot of amazing features. However, whether you've heard about this update through the grapevine or not, it does need a bit of explaining before we dive into the features. Well go over the new naming convention and then we'll touch on the performance, look at the dimensions, and dive into the technologies for safety and convenience. By the time we're done, you'll be ready to drive the 2019 Santa Fe all over South Bend and beyond!

Explaining the New Name

Until this year, there was the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport which seated five and the Hyundai Santa Fe which seated seven. You might think the redesigned 2019 Santa Fe is a redesign of the three-row version, but it's actually a five-passenger model - the name Sante Fe Sport has been retired! Starting in the 2019 year, the former three-row Santa Fe will be renamed the Santa Fe XL.

If you're still a little confused, just make sure you tell our sales team if you're looking for a two- or three-row vehicle, and they'll point you in the right direction!

Performance

The redesigned Santa Fe will be available in the following trims: SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Limited, Limited 2.0T, Ultimate, and Ultimate 2.0T. As the trim names suggest, the two with a 2.0T ending will come with a stronger 2.0L engine that has 235 horsepower and 178 lb-ft torque. The remaining levels get a 2.4L engine with 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft torque. All models come in standard and FWD, though they can all also be upgraded to AWD if you want more control as you take on Elkhart roads when the weather is less than ideal.

Dimensions

The 2019 Santa Fe is about 2-inches longer than its predecessor. You'll have plenty of cargo space with all seats up (35.9 cubic feet), and if you need the entire back you'll get 71.3 cubic feet. Front legroom is a healthy 44.1-inches and those out back will get 40.9-inches.

Accessing the back of the vehicle is made easier with the available hands-free liftgate. With the proximity key, simply stand near the back and the gate will open. You no longer need to wave your foot under the vehicle, which can be hard when the surface is slippery or you have a heavy load.

Convenience Technology

The hands-free liftgate is just one of the few available convenience technologies aboard the 2019 Santa Fe. We also love the power-adjusting front seats that offer lumbar support for the driver and a memory function, sliding second-row seats, and a wireless charging pad that helps cut down on cords.

There's also a touchscreen that can display Apple CarPlay™/Android Auto™ (this helps cut down on the infotainment learning curve), a heads-up display that projects the speed you're going and the actual speed limit in case you missed the sign, and you can get subscriptions to many Hyundai BlueLink connected services.

These are just a taste of the convenience technologies and amenities you can find on the Santa Fe, and they'll make your commute from Mishawaka extra enjoyable.

Safety Technology

Whether you're driving in familiar Granger or another part of the country you're unfamiliar with, feeling safe behind the wheel is important. The Santa Fe has a host of standard and available safety features to give you more confidence. Here's what comes with all Santa Fe trims.

  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist
  • Lane keeping assist
  • Driver attention warning
  • Smart cruise with stop/start
  • High beam assist
  • Auto on/on headlights
  • LED accent lights
  • Bluetooth
  • Rearview camera
  • Can you believe all of that is standard? This is very impressive, and even with top competitors you usually need to add on a package to get those advanced features.

There are two technologies we want to highlight that were engineered with the most precious cargo in mind. The first is the available rear occupant alert that uses ultrasonic detection and gives visual and audible alerts if it detects children and even pets out back. There's also the Safe Exit Assist, which is standard. It can sense if traffic is coming from behind and locks the doors to keep kids in. This works even if you've forgotten the child safety locks, and it is an exclusive feature worldwide!
